Background
In June 2026, the Government presented the "Notre IA" strategy for artificial intelligence within the state. The conversational tool "L'Assistant", developed by the DINUM with Mistral AI, is being rolled out to all state employees after 10 months of testing with 10,000 employees. The DINUM also offers Albert API, an interministerial generative AI platform in a SecNumCloud environment. On September 10, 2026, a "Pacte Numérique et IA" was signed with the industry; the DINUM is to become the state's reference authority for AI and digital technology (ARIANE).
In January 2026, the Cour des comptes published a report on France Travail: more than half of its staff say they use AI tools, and the operator is lagging behind in compliance with the GDPR and the European regulation on AI.
