Understanding the AI maturity grid
This diagnostic places your organisation across four levels, from denial to governance. Most organisations are exposed, at level 0 or 1.
- 0 · Denial — no policy, no measure; usage exists, invisible. Maximum exposure.
- 1 · Ban — a restrictive, unsupported policy; usage continues, hidden. The worst of both worlds.
- 2 · Framing — written policy, a validated and hosted tool, training. Risk is under control.
- 3 · Governance — framing, usage audits, human review, continuous improvement.

- A written AI policy — what's allowed, what isn't, and with which tools.
- A validated, properly hosted tool — in Europe, data not reused for training.
- Human review on high-stakes outputs — no client, legal or financial deliverable without review.
